How often should I use Nourishing Face & Body Lotion?

Feel free to use our Nourishing Face & Body Lotion every day! As water tends to dry-out skin, we especially recommend using our lotion after shower or bath-time. If your baby’s skin is super dry, you may moisturize twice daily or even after every diaper change. If you need a little extra nourishment on dry spots (such as elbows, heels, knees, cuticles…) our Do-It-All Baby Balm comes to the rescue!

Can I apply lotion to my newborn?

Yes! Newborn skin tends to be very sensitive and can be easily damaged, creating an infection risk for your baby. Especially in the days following birth, the baby's skin may become dry, crusted and peeled. During this period, it is appropriate to use gentle moisturizing lotions without any harsh ingredients such as fragrance, parabens and phthalates for your newborn. At Pure Project, we never include fragrance, parabens and phthalates in our products, and our lotion is absolutely gentle enough to be applied on your delicate newborn.

What are some ways to avoid dry skin?

It’s pretty simple, moisturize! Several times a day, and always after bathing. You can also limit tub or shower time to avoid over drying. When you do bathe yourself or your little one, use our Hair & Body Wash, which gently moisturizes with jojoba, almond and olive oils. If you experience dry skin, eczema, or cradle cap on your little one, you may add our Baby Bath Brush to your bath-time routine.

What ingredients should I avoid in my lotion?

It’s always best to avoid heavily fragranced moisturizers. Although the smell may be pleasing, the potential for irritation is high. Avoid harmful ingredients such as parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrance and other toxic ingredients. Little Pure Project products are always fragrance-free, and never include parabens, phthalates, or irritating natural extracts. If an ingredient is a little suspicious, it’s out of our formulas!
